Used to know Seamus and Danny Mulgrew from there, but that was many many moons ago.

No, I lived down the Loney Rathbone, but they used to visit Mrs Kane who lived next door to me. I think she was their granny.   I used to know the late Danny McCooey who lived up there. Did you know him?

Hi Teragram, I knew the McCoeys. They lived next door to my Granny in Shiels St. Remember well when Danny died. Is Paul McCoey still around. there were two sisters too. Roisin and Rosemary were there names I think. I am from the Whiterock Road but spent more time in Beechmount. Did you know the famous Danny Jack? he used to scare the life out of us St. Roses girls?

I think the daughters names were Joan and Rosemary.   Roisin was their mother, and Danny was their father.

Hi Teragram, Do you hear anything about Paul McCoey. Werent he and Danny twins? They didnt look alike at all. If my memory serves me right. Danny was shot and they were living over in the new section of Beechmount around St. Roses school. I remember going to the house like it was yesterday.

Hi Whiterockgirl

Would you be any relation to Leo Mc Laughlin from the Whiterock area?

Yes Leo was my Great Uncle. He lived there with his daughter Frances and her family. He lived to be a ripe old age, God love him.

Yes  he was a fine old gentleman I looked up to him as a father figure

when we worked together for a while on the building of St Thomas's school

It's wonderful how paths can cross after so many years. O0 O0
