    i remember the Crossans very well and yes they lived opposite the Deans, Billy, Danny, and Bobby.My brother Joe married Mary Crossan sadly they are both passed on. The one in England Is Eileen living now in Windsor

Anyone remember the Smiths or O'Hares living here in the 40's????

Reply to Clinker: I would love to have a copy of your picture. David McCallum (McCallion?) lives in the states. I was in contact with him a while ago but my PC got a virus from the site and we lost touch. After the RAF I think he was an engineer. I have a query for everyone - What was the sq. footage of a kitchen house in Merrion Street? Harry McIlmurray

i grow up in number 49 merrion street with the McCaffrey/Lyons household remember the moores the lanagans and loads off other old neighbours

My family is the torbitts from merrion street
my dad who passed away is bernard(barney) uncle hughie, uncle john, uncle charlie, uncle william and aunts marie, lily and annie. My grannu and granda were called annie and william torbitt.

Then in abbercorn street family called shortts bridie shortt and frank shortt. There wete my mum dolorrs torbitt/shortt, philomena, frances, kathleen and patricia.

Hi Im one of the connollys from merrion st. I knew the Torbitts, there was six boys and two girls in our family. I  left there to marry a wee girl from the w/rock in 55. my father lived there till about 80. Been in Cal. since 72 would like to hear from leeson st.too.

If you are the Pat Connolly that used to live at the Leeson st end of Merrion street then you know my family well especially my brothers Frank and Jim. We moved to wee McDonnell street and you have been in our house many many times. Jim now lives in Toronto  Frank still lives in Belfast I now reside in California Frank is now 90 and Jim is at least 87. both still going strong

Long time since wee McDonnell street. Rooney's shop, Fuscos and Tougher's pawn shop. Glad you are well.  I lived at 139. I haven't lived in Northern Ireland in 46 years.
