Since the oul place is 100 this year, are there any celebrations planned, or have they already been and gone?

Any memories of her or any good photos?

You missed the Birthday Party for the City Hall on Tuesday 1st August, eastender.
The celebrations have been going on all year throughout Belfast with guided tours and special events.

Belfast City Hall will 100 years old on Tuesday, 1 August 2006. To mark this prestigious occasion, we’re holding a birthday celebration from 11am – 7pm in the grounds of City Hall.

The celebrations will include a feast of activities for all to enjoy from classical and contemporary music to traditional and global dance. There will be various displays, art stalls, children’s entertainment and circus performances.

Vintage cars will decorate the grounds of the City Hall, while historical characters will create the Edwardian atmosphere of 1906.

So bring your family and your picnic along to the front lawns and experience a historical event to mark the Centenary of Belfast City Hall.

Venue: City Hall

Promoter: Belfast City Council

Audience: Family Event

Status: Admission Free

You'll enjoy seeing around the City Hall, Pentio. A group of people from Belfast Forum and Rootschat went on the guided tour of the building on 29th July. One member of our party tried on the Mayor's robes. You should support the Forum meets on the last Saturday of each month. The Titanic boat tour is planned for the end of this month.

These are photos of the Grand Staircase and Principal Landing with mural.

The bronze statue on the landing is of Frederick Robert Chichester, Earl of Belfast (1827 - 1853).

The mural illustrates the foundation of the city and its one-time principal industries. (Linen etc.)
