Val yes i remember the chippie in Silvio st corner of Ambleside St sold scallops Belfast style (slices of potato fried in batter) also Lizza's on the corner of Riga and Berlin st must have been the worst in Belfast owned by Two sisters lived in upp Brussels St.

Remember the Eagle fish and chips well . They were the best. I use to call in to the Eagle with my girl then as we made are way home to the Falls to her house. This was in the 60s. Would`nt we all love to turn back the clock A shilling a chip then 2 now.

Jim said, The Gilliland's owned Lizza's and his Aunt Martha owned the one in Silvio St. Do you remember McTaggart's wee shop and on the other corner was O'Hara's bakery, also Billy Gordon's butcher shop between Riga St & Weir St.

Hi Every one. I think Raffo's on the lower falls was the best and as for me ma making them she did in Raffo's  lol lol and longs came a close second there was also a really old type chippe that was under a bridge near the bottom of the Newtownards road it stayed open really late at night and we used to double back to get them on our way home late at night

Yep that is the name I was looking for . loved going there on a Saturday night .
there was so many chippies in Belfast some times I think I should have been in the good food guide lol

My ma always said it was spences in east belfast , but da always said it was longs durham st . Where do you think it was ?
does anyone remember when a fishsupper cost only 9d back in the wonderfull 60s :D

Remember going to Aldo at lunch time for a fish supper and yes I do remember getting a fish supper for 9d   and 20 fags for 1/6
