These photos were posted a while back on the Oldpark Road thread. The first two were posted by Bob Fawcett who was a teacher at Finiston School.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob last year at his home in Glengormley and had a really enjoyable afternoon with him, for a man in his 80's he has a great memory, hope you enjoy the photos.

Hi can't place you i lived at 15 heathfield road maurice black is my cousin that's how i knew jimmy stergent and davy.
did you go to finiston and when. if so who do you know from school.

My class at Finiston had Kim Allen and Marion Kernaghan

does anyone remember the comfort family they went to finiston and lived in 28 yarrow street off the crumlin
I think there was  an alan and then kenneth he  was in my class aswell as david mullan ,anybody remember wee harry shanks??????????? Think they emigrated though. What about Jan gowdy and Loui her brother they were supposed to have gone to
canada.
 Do you remember going to the pics on a saturday morning we used to get the ticket from school on a friday, it was on of the high event of the week.

Surprised that so many spell the school "Finniston" when, of course, it was "Finiston". I'd be interested to know the origin of the name...perhaps an old house in the ancinet demesne of 'Old Park'. I'm not sure why the building was demolished, but even as a child in the early sixties I could see that it was one of the handsomest buildings on the Old Park Road. Wesley
