Docu-dramas about the Irish Famine
« on: December 09, 2008, 05:59:10 AM »
Ballinran Productions of Toronto has already made two docu-dramas about the Irish famine and have another one in the pipeline. "Summer of Sorrow" told the story of events in 1847. Their second one "Death or Canada" tells the story of a protestant family from Co. Limerick, John and Mary Willis who, along with their five children, left Ireland on a coffin ship to make the journey to Canada. Their new project, "Hangman’s Graveyard," will tell the story of two young Co. Down men who emigrated following the death of their parents.

Thanks Collette   O0   Is it true that if you were RC you weren't allowed to learn how to read and write.    That is terrible if it's true.
I used to be indecisive.   Now I'm not so sure.

I found this to be very sad, as I do everything from this period in history. Hopefully society on a whole is no longer how it was then. I would like to think we have advanced since then. Peace on earth & good will to all.
