19th Century Belfast photographers
« on: January 04, 2009, 04:20:44 PM »
The photograph, in the link, was taken sometime in the 1860s by a well known Belfast photographer ... James Magill of Donegall Place. So far the guy who owns the photo has not been able to find out much about James Magill other than the fact that he was also a bookseller. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sunnybrook100/1852645990

The 1861 Directory on Mary Lennon's website shows ...
Jame Magill, stationer, gilder and book seller, 6 & 7, Castle Buildings. Res: 33, King Street.

Welcome to the Forum cranium.
Yes please, the Forum welcomes all information on Belfast   especially if you have any of his work.
If you do have any of his photos then you will find an “Old Photos” section on the main menu.... you can start a new thread and upload the photos
