Sorry, Made a mistake.  Kilbroney house was built in the 60's was not thinking. The estate was built around the end of WWII 1945.  It was built before the house in Flush Park and Knockeden.  Senior moment  LOL

Hi Dancer.
You probably did not make a mistake.
The High Rise Flats which you call Kilbroney were probably not built until the early sixties.
I don't remember them when I was going to Cregagh Primary in the Fifties.
True, the estate was built in the late Forties but Kilbroney house was an afterthought I think.
Perhaps Deke would remember.

If I'm wrong in posting please tell me, I'm a native from the good old E of B.
Still living in the east, although away from my roots on the Newton and now in Dundonald.

You are certainly not wrong in posting. Welcome. Coats

Another problem solved.

I was in the Merchant Navy in the sixties so don't even remember it being built.

I usually stayed in the upper part of the Estate even when I was home on leave.

Pretty impressive for something built in the sixties.

house on Pims the first house was the Dempsters you might have known Artie and his sister was
Roberta. What was the name of the family beside you that were in the Salvation Army. They were
nice people.   Betty

John got the pics and they were lovely. Were they paintings ? The photo of the Plaza was great. The
last time I saw the Plaza it was boarded up then I heard that it housed civic offices. If those walls could
talk. How are things in Oz ? The family I asked you about were the Youngs and then the last house
was the Kirkwoods and their garden came right around unto Pims. We were always in there
getting back our ball.  Take care and once again thanks for the pics.    Betty
