Hello Beller, was one of your uncles called 'Deacon' Canning?
i realise these posts were a couple of years ago but really interesting. Deacon is Patrick Canning and is my dad.

Kateme, I came from upper Ardoyne but my Mother's family is from Glenview st, I was in the Fegiins house many times as a child, all the people mentioned by me were friends and neighbours of my Mother...She knows all of them from the old days (She's 87 now)...all that information that I posted she rattled off in about 5 minutes without a break...

She also knows Arders family and said Arders family would have been in her house regularly, and also the Fegins, you know what it was like, everyone dropped into everyones house
glenb, did you live at the top of allianze ave ?

Hi, I know this is a bit of an old thread but wondering if anyone knew/knows the Kellys that lived in number 38? Paddy and Brigid, they had 6 kids, 4 girls and 2 boys(twins).

Hi my dad Dominic Captain (possibly Capitanio) lived in Strathroy Park in from mid-30s to mid-50s. Left to work in England in a hospital in Northampton. Does anybody remember the family? Parents were William and Margaret. He had brothers Tony and Willy. I have only just started talking to him about his memories of Belfast

Hi Maymac. Thank you for your reply. I will ask Dad about your late mother-in-law and the Curries when I see him on Sunday
