An Aussie Irish Christmas
« on: December 24, 2006, 08:42:46 PM »

On Christmas Day in Sydney there is a special event in Hyde Park that morning. It is dedicated to many of the Irish people, particularly women, who arrived in Australia down the years. The Hyde Park Barracks was used to house many of these women when they arrived in Australia.

At 730 pm [in Australia] that evening, ABC will be broadcasting a programme with highlights of this and other things about the Irish contribution to Australia.

It is to be beamed live to Ireland.
