Was the McAleer School of Irish Dancing a large one ??? Did pupils win awards at Festivals ???

yes it was a big concern.  alice mcaleer was the teacher.  did not dance at festivals.  was the other.  won many medals and competitions.  it was the best irish dancing school in belfast.  better then McCoy's, O'Connor's, johnstons, Reid's and others.  just heard lately that Alice had died.  mcaleers is still going strong in the USA.  run by her niece veronica.  come on  the black and whites.  many dancers won all ireland and ulster championships.  Dan Armstrong and Imelda Murphy and Dennis Curran to name just a few.

Spoke to him today, he already had arrangements made for today but will get in touch with me the next time he is in Ireland.

My daughter Siobhan Rooney danced with Veronica McAleer in Wilmington, Delaware, USA (1989-1997).
