I remember Leslie Mackie very well.  I think he was son of Stuart Mackie.  I can remember when he bought Larchfield estate outside Lisburn.  I worked in the plumber's shop in the foundry and my journeyman was Albert Shaw.  We were the first to do a bit of work in the Larchfield mansion. All good memories from my time in Mackies.  I think the car you referred to was a "Bristol 3 litre sports".  My first visit to Larchfield was memorable as I got lost down in the basements.

Hi Dancer and PG I served my time there I started in the West Factory at 16 went through Card shop Joe Frame foreman CPA Blackie  Experimental Num 1. I was there from 1976 to 1982 and my old friend Jackie Maxwell any one know these people.

 served my time as a fitter West factory foreman was called Maxwell j then moved from the boys factory to the main factory from 1976 - 1982
