PSNI Role reversal

Did we ever think that it would be possible to have a Polish Police force in N. Ireland. Perhaps people on both sides of the sectarian divide would rather have a Pole than one of their opposite numbers as a member of the PSNI.
Please see copy of Belfast Telegraph Headline for this date. Coats

Almost 1,000 Poles seek jobs in PSNI recruitment drive

Thursday, January 11, 2007

The PSNI says almost 1,000 Polish people have applied to join the force during its latest recruitment drive.
Figures out today show Poles make up 968 of the more than 7,700 applications received in November

However, it is not known how many actually joined the force as figures are not released about successful candidates.

More than 30,000 Polish people are currently believed to be living in Northern Ireland, while an estimated 150,000 live in the Republic.

They would be in Pole position for the job!

Does this mean that if the officer put in charge of removing sectarian
emblems etc. is Polish that he would be called a flagpole? ;)

If the circus came to town and he was directing the traffic near the ground would he be a tentpole ???

Well if he got slightly tipsy we'd know he was Poleaxed 8) Now if a PSNI Polish Officer and a Garda Siochana Polish officer met would that be the North Pole meeting the South Pole ???
Sure wouldn't it be a fine thing to see a couple of PSNI Poleeece men on the beat in Poleglass ???

It might Polearise things even further, and would they maintain security at elections?  i.e are you going to the Poleing Station?
Let's have a pole to see if it is a good idea.If they bring peace to Norn Irn they could write a book,"What the Warsaw".Would Belfast banter become Krakow?
The Policemens' Ball would be Pole dancing and the guy who makes the uniforms would be the clothes' pole.
Would small Police cars made by Ford be called Polkas?
CCTV could be replaced by Polearoids, and would chickens eaten at Police Stations be Poletry?
Enough,I'm going off to the  Polish Ballroom for a Gdansk. ;D
