French B & B with a warm Ulster welcome.
« on: April 29, 2009, 11:16:27 AM »
Bed & Breakfast available in sunny Charente Maritime.
Stay in a lovely rural 200year old French home, complete with original oak beams, full of character and charm.
A warm N. Ireland welcome assured, and special low rates for people from home!!!

The attractions of the area include:-
1) The beautiful beaches in the area including Royan, St George De Didonne, and La Rochelle.
2) Fabulous architecture and shopping, not to mention history in the magnificent city of Bordeaux.
3) Beautiful Cognac with it's cobbled streets, beautiful buildings, great history and tasting tours in all the big Cognac houses like Hennessy, Remy Martin, Courvoisier to name but a few.
4) The Ile De Oleron, The oyster and mussel farms at Marennes, Brouage etc.
5) The cave dwellings at Meschers.
6) Historique town of Saintes with it's Roman amphitheatre and baths to mention just a couple of attractions.
7) Boating on the Charente.
8) Karting 5 mins away.
9) Numerous museums.
10) The zoo at Palmeyre.
11) The Paleosite where they found the remains of Neolithic people. The interactive experience where you
can even morph yourself and have a good laugh at how you would have looked as a Neolithic person.
12) All the wonderful chateau's, too many to mention them all, but the Chateau De La Roche Courbon and
Chateau De Panloy spring to mind.
13) Visit some of the countless vineyards in the area.
14) Simply enjoy the sunshine on a lounger in the garden.
I wont keep going but suffice to say, plenty to see and do.
Flights by Ryanair into La Rochelle just 45 mins away, or Aer Lingus into Bordeaux, 1 hour away, both from Dublin.
Or take the ferry from Rosslare to Cherbourg or Roscoff.
See you here perhaps!!

we are going to your area on the 31st march next year and would be interested in staying with you. Can you please tell us the rates. There are 6 of us and we would require two doubles and 1 twin room please. John
