i lived in 53 silvergrove st in the 50s and went to Mc Quistions primary it was on he pass opposite apsley st porters memorial was in apsley st

From what  i can remember Roy,you turned up the street at the Ivy bar then it was to the left hand side.There is an old cottage that remains in what was Coyles Place, I think it is a listed building.On the Ormeau Road was a post office, Coyle st would have been behind this. Think it is a car park now!

Must have got my directions right then,was a long time since i lived there. My dad was born at Coyle St in 1932 and lived there to about 1972.

i lived in rainey street from 1954 to 1969 and went to porters,i would like to hear from any one from that side of the pass.
they were great days but living in those little terrace houses i just dont know how our parents managed,there was 6 of us kids and our parents. :)

hi roy, i wonder if any residents of rainey way were there when it was rainey street, my memories are of little shops and pubs on nearly every corner of the streets there.
