The george you speak of is my uncle and he is still alive and kicking. They never lived on hamill street, only on john st and then monagh rd before moving to west oz in 66. My uncle lived with his granny for a few years she was emily trainor then moved back home with his parents Patrick (paddy) and veronica (vera) Hamill and siblings Mary Patrick Veronica Sinead Siobhan Dierdre

there was a geordie Hamill who lived in John st i knocked about with him till the family emigrated to austrialia about 1960/61 teragram

Which came a a pleasant surprise to me as we had heard he was killed in 'Nam fighting with the Aussie army.
