During our visit to NZ in 2011 to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary, we stayed at Lake Wanaka on the South Island.  A magical place

Another image from our New Zealand holiday.  This was taken in Glenorcy just outside Queenstown in the South Island.  I am informed that it is popular as a film location

Greetings fellow Belfast Expats. I immigrated to NZ in 1965, initially to Wellington, moved to Auckland in '95. Brother still in Wellington. Found this site by accident today so still feeling my round posts and replies LOL

Welcome PJD.  I was lucky enough to visit your wonderful country, both North and South island, a few years ago immediately before the Christchurch earthquake.  I fell in love with it and its people, and when I heard about the earthquake my heart bled for them..  It must be the second greatest country on earth.  Enjoy the Forum.

To everyone in New Zealand -  I hope you are all safe and sound after the earthquake and sunami that has hit NZ   Desandel, I  know it effected the South Island the most, but I still hope  both of you and your family are all safe.   des
