Update on earthquake, so far there have been over 40 aftershocks varying from 2 to 4.5. There are confirmed 146 dead and over 200 missing. This is biggy and will take a long time to recover from.

Hi Greyghost, Have been watching the developments here in Oz.  It's been receiving constant coverage. A dreadful time for all of you. Thinking of all those affected and have given a donation.

If anyone else wants to donate money for our Kiwi friends, here's the website:

Hi Mcd, it's heartbreaking.  Poor wee thing was on the floor and a TV fell down on him when the quake started.  His mum picked him up and took him to hospital but there was nothing to be done.  :(
It's a week today since the quake.

Prince William`s visit to your lovely Country appears to have been well
received ,and your people have had the opportunity to see at first hand
just how friendly and down to earth a young man he has grown up to be.
He has said how much he loves the "Antipodes" and their people. Its very
obvious just how sincere this young man is-definitely his Mother`s Son-she would be so very proud.
As I said on the Australia thread-I do not think it will be too long before he brings his Princess to visit you.

Never Brian. .Will the rugby union game being played at Twickenham today be televised in N.Z.  Christchurch earthquake appeal will benefit.  Pity that no world cup rugby union games will be played there.  Is the ground damaged
So how is life treating you . ;)

There is structural damage to the stadium and extensive liquifaction to the ground and surrounding area. Another reason that Christchurch can no longer host the games are the number of hotels damaged in the quake. It will take two years alone to fix the roading infrastructure.

Yes I am looking forward to the Crusaders winning.
The new Stadium in Dunedin may get a couple of extra games as a result of the quake.

To anyone in N.Z who is interested.  There is a programme on pay t.v tomorrow Saturday at 4.30 pm Australian time about that famous New Zealander Rewi Alley.  It is on Chinese channel CCTV.
