imagine building a zoo on the side of a mountain ...wouldn't be allowed nowadays. Always felt sorry for the polar bear in its tiny white painted enclosure swaying back and forth. Bellevue was always a good day out , can't ever remember it raining ....school bag full of sandwiches , painted boiled eggs and melted chocolate easter egg. Someone always fell down the steps  :smile:

One again these photographs brilliant, made my day, my late Mum used to work in the house beside Charlie Converys, I think it was Devlins and they ran a sweet shop from the house, she used to work there after school. She also worked in Barbours Mill
