I am seeking news or the whereabouts of John Ronald "Ronnie" Dixon, born 1923, Northern Ireland. At age 27, he abandonned his wife and 4 year old son (John Henry Geoffrey Dixon, born April 1946) in East Belfast, June 1950.  Last known residence: 9 Regent Pl., Edinburgh. Occupation listed as: grocer.  He boarded the Edinburgh Castle passenger ship on June 22 1950 in Southampton, bound for Cape Town, South Africa. Last known residence believed to be Durban, South Africa. It is not known if he travelled alone or with a companion.  It is not known if Ronnie Dixon is alive or dead.  The chief geneology expert in South Africa, who is searching for info on my behalf, reported to me this week that she has not found any death records for a John Ronald Dixon in South Africa since 1950, so there is still hope he is alive.  He would be 86 years old now.  His ex-wife in Belfast is alive, age 88, but in declining health.  Any news, information or leads would be most appreciated.  His son, John Dixon, is now 63 years old, and has not seen or heard from his father in 59 years.  Please help me help John Dixon find his da.  Thank you!
