Hi Boxer,
Loved seeing Granny Moran's photo once again.  I was even happier to see her when, as a child aged 8 or 9 years old I had very bad Bronchitis.  I had been ill for about 3 weeks and My Aunt was very worried.  (I lost my appetite and felt feverish for what seemed a long time). She asked Granny Moran for advice and she "prescribed" Vinegar and Brown Paper on my chest.   The smell made me very sick and brought up buckets of Phlegm.  I remember well the fever lifted and next day I was able to to take  some vegetable soup.  I was soon on my feet again.  Granny Moran was a very kindly, old woman.  She wore a black shawl.  She used to send me all her "messages".  I often went to Lizzie and Jim Lockhart's corner shop for her.  She gave a large copper penny once and My Aunt said it was a lot of money for an old person to give.  I told her I would go all her messages for nothing.  She always had a smile for me.  She used to take a pinch of snuff.  I was told she also smoked a white clay pipe.  I think she was in her nineties when she died. I loved her to bits!
