Ballynafeigh Summer Scheme 24th July - 11th August
« on: June 08, 2006, 03:48:37 PM »
Ballynafeigh Community House runs an International Summer Programme for 140 chidren between the ages of 4 to 14. The scheme is run during the time of year when the tensions in the area are at their highest.
I phoned the BCH this afternoon. They urgently require volunteers so if you would like to volunteer or if you know someone looking for voluntary work during the Summer please tell them about this scheme and ask them, if possible, to contact the Community House staff before June 23rd. Tell them not to worry too much if they want to phone after this date that will be OK. Oh, voluntary work such as this looks great on a CV when you are looking for a job. communityni.org contains a lot of interesting information. You can use the search facility on the site for finding politicians and authors among other people. Search for David Patterson. He's the pastor of Donaghadee Baptist Church. He's recently written a book called a "Legacy of Tears". It's available in bookshops
