I was at the Boys Model, started on the Cliftonville road and then to Ballysillan up to 1958.Was in Ernie,s first class to sit the Junior certificate and also on his first rugby team to compete in the Medallion shield. I remember Geordie Ross , he taught us after the Junior, all our yesterdays!

God someone who was in Ernie's first class!!!! The school was build was built for the Bull M'Neilly They wanted him to open it as a grammar school but he refused. It was in part built to his specs hence the windows on two sides of the class room so he could see what was going on as he prowled the corridors. I have seen him burst into a classroom where the teacher was sitting down and bark ' Get to yer feet mister The Belfast Education and Library Board doesn't pay you to sit on yer [censored]' What a class act. He wouldn't get away with it now. But he treated everybody the same, staff, pupils , parents yes all the same like dogs LOL

Mojo where did you live when you went to the Girl's Model. Hillview street ran up from the Oldpark Road. A puib called the Bush owned by the McGoverns was on the corner

I lived just off the Ballysillan Road then, up at Carr's Glen.
