Anybody know an Aiken (think was the name) who lived in Taughmonagh. I always remember they had a garden gate at the start of the passage and no fence round the garden, just the gate.

The Butcher shop was managed by a guy called Jimmy Campbell, lived in Stockmans Lane and cycled down every day. He was friendly with Jack the Milkman, the pair of them were horsey mad.

I was born at 20 finbank gardens, left in 1972. people i remember were, our next door neighbour, mrs taylor, mrs mc cambley, whos children were, sandy jr, albert, norman, issy, mary, mervin, and i only no one other but not his name, i only remember calling him ginger. other names i remember were. mrs mc claine, who i still think of very fondly as she used to give me two bob, or half a crown on my birthday. my memory isent what it was. then there was mrs curn, mr boyd, charlie chuck boyd, mr johnston, next door to them i think were people called faloons, i no they had a great big pigeon shed. dont remember taughmonagh ever being called a village, but i do remember it being refered to as tin town.

Anyone remember Janet Breen from bottom of Malton drive and her friend Marlyne Wilson from Finnis Drive?  Round about 1962 to 1965.

Thinking of it, I believe the bungalow was in Malton Drive but the side of the house door (kitchen/hall) was in the street which ran off Malton Drive. The whole garden area was unfenced and the gate was at the passageway leading to the side door (kitchen/hall). Don't know if anybody ever bothered using the gate.
