Anybody know an Aiken (think was the name) who lived in Taughmonagh. I always remember they had a garden gate at the start of the passage and no fence round the garden, just the gate.

Aikens moved 2 the Village Donegall Parade Stevie, Rab, Eddie, William, Elizabeth, Sid.

I remember Jeanette. A few years ago I run into her brother (think Jackie was his name) and his missus. I met them a couple of times after that but later on I met his wife again and she told me that he had died.

Haven't a clue where Jeanette is now.

Thanks for the info re the Aikens. I was beginning to wonder if I had got the name wrong. Its a long while ago. If I remember correctly one of his sisters married a Scots fella. It sticks in my mind because I remember him saying to me that they had got a house in Twinbrook. It was supposed to be to get both sides of the community together but of course it didn't happen.

The Aiken I'm thinking of played in the Pass band.....i think.

Father Jack - Michael Ward is my Mum's cousin.  Sadly he passed away a number of years ago, I'm not exactly sure when.  We lost touch with the family.  Michael's parents were Robert and Margaret and he had a sister called Carol.  I know Michael had moved away from the area.  He was married and had 3 sons, but that's all I know.

I lved at 20 Finnis Drive in the mid 50's, next door to Harrison (went to Millisle), also recollect Moffitt and Dowie.       Still in touch with Betty Cairns (Malfin Drive) whose family went to Chicago c. 1959!     Also remember Betty Malcolm, and Billy Purse - both Malfin Drive...and didn't motorcycle racer Ralph Bryans also live there, or is my memory playing tricks???
