Jimmy, I see Victoria is having problems with the coronavirus. Hope you and the family are safe in New South Wales.

Yes peter victoria has declared a state of disaster and have now put a curfew on between 8pm and 5am the border is closed between nsw and Queensland and Victoria and nsw with only essential services and workers getting through. We still haven't gone back to the restrictions here in nsw but we all have the feeling it will happen again soon.

Hi Everyone,

Colin and Dawson have been lovely enough to help me and told me to put this to the wider audience, so here goes.

I am the granddaughter of Alexander Beattie, born in 1924.
Parents were Georgina Verner and Albert Beattie (70 Burnaby Street and 2 Empire Parade)
Sister, Margaret Beattie who married David Lewis
Sister Mary Taylor, unknown husband, who had children Gloria, Jim and Alex (went to Queen Victoria and Kelvin)
Brother Jack Beattie, who was in the  46th Old Boys' Silver Band.

My grandfather came to Australia during the war, married, had my mother and Aunt and sadly passed away.  We dont have any photos of alexander and the information I have, is mainly due to members of this site, who I am so grateful for.

Does anyone have the contact details of anyone mentioned above? or any additional information not mentioned that may assist me in tracking them down?

Thank you so much!!

Hi Tia. My mum was your grandads younger sister, Maggie Beattie (Margaret born  1930 married name Kirker). So Iím your mumís cousin and my name is Sharon Houston (nee Kirker) Mum loved  your grandad very much. Sheís sadly passed away now but if I can help please get in touch.

Best wishes,

Sharon.
