Astor, Elizabeth Street was on the other side of the Grosvenor Road. However, what was your Aunts name? Also, if you posted on the Who do u know from the pound loney area? site you should get a good response. However, I do have some photos of Elizabeth Street and Devonshire Street (next street).

Her name was Eilish Coogan, her hubby was Ted Coogan.  It was on the right hand side of Elizabeth Street going in from the Grosvenor Road and it was on a corner,  They used to sell everything, and I remember she used to use old paper bags from 1/4lb of loose tea to serve sweets in!!!!  That was thrift for you (or was it ::) )  I'd love to see a photo and maybe her shop is in it, she's still alive and kicking and is 92, lives in Dublin now. It'd need to be an old photo!!

Anne, Did you live at the 'bend' next door to the garage where Terry Hanna (boxer) worked?

In the last post I stated that the 'Blackie' was just at the back. Sorry, it's Excise Street.
