Any remember the Campfields from Beechmount Street - 5 boys in the family

Hi Astor. I knew Brian, he's now head of NIPSA Civil Service Trade Union.  My huband knows them all he's from Beechmount, Logan St, then over to Irwell St and back to the Ave, lived in Amcomri St during his first marriage, and back to the Ave again when they split up! ::)
Then of course he met me and I took the boy out of Beechmount altogether!  ;) :D

From he was about 2 year old - 1963 - Logan St, then over to Irwell St when he was 16 and when his Daddy died they all moved back to Beechmount Ave.  He was in working in London for a few years and when he returned he lived in his Granny's house in Clonard, got married and then they moved to Amcomri St, when his first marriage fell through, he moved back to Beechmount Ave.  Think my house it's the longest time he's ever lived in one place!  ::) :D

I grew up on Beechmount Parade, my grandparents lived in Beechmount Street, went to school in St. Marys - my brother went to St.Pauls - roamed around all the old streets, Clowney, Ancomri, Oakman Street.  I remember the Bungalows, and Brennans shop opposite our school. Waiting in line for the fish and chips at Barnes, then some nights we went to Fusco's on the front of the Falls besides Meladys shop.   Bonefire nights - the hone of the bread van and the factory horn at l p.m.  ah memories, cathy

Redkate was that Fuscos at the top of Dunville Street?
I can vaguely remember that name Meladeys.

Yes, Meladies was just beside Daly's - but I also remember the other one, I think it was opposite the Falls Baths and when we came out on a Monday night - we would go in and get chips or maybe a big ice cream with tea leaves on top - do you remember those , they were delicious. .cathy
