My father was also a breadserver for JB Kennedy's many moons ago. I remember the quote about JB's well!!!   We lived in Iris Street, then Hawthorn Street, my sister lived in Earlscourt Street for years but is now in Dublin as well.  We might even know each other :scratch_ones_head:

I think they were connected with St John's GAA Club as were two of my uncles, Barney and Tony (RIP).

I grew up in Beechmount Parade, the Goughs lived around  there, I think were relative of the Fitzpatrick's who also lived on the Parade, also the Breens.

Hi Peter, Thank you so much for replying, how did you know my Dad & Grandad, did you live by them?, I never met my grandad he did travel over to England with my uncle Christie once but it was before i was born the only ones i really met were Christie & Bert but i was very young so i didnt really ask any questions about the family history also uncle Tom came over from Chicago for his funeral in 1985 but he has since passed away. Uncle Brendan moved to Canada as far as i knew because Dad went over to see him & Tom in the 70's. I understand my Grandad worked at the docks & i would love to more about them as a family and if i have any relations maybe on my grandmothers side in Belfast which would be brilliant!. Well sorry if i have bored you with my story but its nice to know that someone actually knew them because i've tried lots of search engines on the web but its like they didn't exist! So thank you once again!

Kind Regards

Maureen

Hello Astor I lived in Beechmount Bungalows in the mid 60s with my sister and her family then I moved to Harrogate street in 1972 before leaving Belfast but I used to know a guy who went with my mate he was called Billy Meleney I am not sure of the surname spelling he was from down that end and I think it might have been Clowney street do you know him or what ever became of him thank you
