great shots of beresford st &the shankill rd  thanks for that ,
 
i know im a sad creature but when i see old photos from way back i always wonder who the people are and what became of them ,
i knew many from around that area ,agnes st crimea st meenam st malvern st
st christphor st, langford  st ,etc hoping to go back soon and take a wee walk up the crumlin and shankhill rd , last time there was for funeral of my father 1997 ,i  just want one more viewing  to set me right  :smile:  and try look up any old pals that may still be around  before its too late ,
ah doffer, ya might be disapointed the place has changed so much & in my opinion not for the better :(

going by their winkle pickers, I'd say it was the early 60's  :smile:

You'd be better going up and asking him yourself, take the photo with you, if he doesn't already own a copy i'm sure he would love to see it.

Beresford Street Directory for 1903 anyone looking info from other years leave me a message and i'll post the info, as of now i've 1903 to 1941 but will get up until the street was demolished.

Are you sure about that ? according to the street directory for 1911, No' 76 was occupied buy a Holland, J., Ironmoulder.
 
But there's a McDowell, Jas., Labourer. living at No' 20 which i believe is your relative, you must have been looking at the form no' on the census which is 76 as i just pulled it up.

The mural on the wall is my G.G Uncle Richard Mussen, A Zulu War Veteran, he had the last horse drawn gun carriage in belfast, Dec 27 1936, the mural is from a photo of the funeral procession going down northumberland street on it's way to the city cemetery.
