Beresford Street
« on: April 26, 2010, 11:58:38 PM »
Hi all,

Does anyone have a photo of Beresford street?  My grandfather and great grandparents lived there in the early 1900s and I've had no luck searching Google.  I'm hoping someone on the Forum can help.

Many thanks,

I was born in Albany Street 1951 runs between Agnes Street and Beresford St. But I'm sorry I don't have any photographs of that area. I have vague recollections of a few families on Beresford st. Fitzgeralds, Osbornes, Quinns, Greens, ah they are all a blur theses days.

Thanks Ulster Canadian and greyghost.  My family were the Smyths, who lived in No.20 and 39 in the 1910s.
Maybe when I make the big visit to Ireland I'll find a photo at PRONI.  Meanwhile I'll keep looking.

but thanks again.

You're a gem!  Thank you, Ulster Canadian.  Very much appreciated.

I just wanted to know what the street looked like and have a photo I could add to the family history, so it's perfect.  Thanks again.

The entrance to Beresford street from the Shankill Road still exists, its the opening beside the Bank.
