who was in charge of Bawnmore while you wear there
and what other information where you hoping to find
out about Bawnmore
when I left to go Kincora it was ran by Mrs&Mrs Smith then I went to Kincora and in 1965 I joined the Army

I was put in Bawnmore at a young age 5 I think what I'm after I also was sent with a brother and sister but diving into my past with a help from a friend the records show that they were adopted as you know Bawnmore then in the 40s early 50s was a mixed home before turning into all boys Home what I'm after does any of the older boys remember us coming in together I know it was a long time ago ie 1953 or round about that date any help would be much appreciated

Yup I was there with my two brothers around 1975 ..
I was in Bawnmore children's home with Jim Mc Farland back in the 50s it was off the Whitewell Road, a rather large house with lots of play areas with woods, I remember it best, every weekend when the family visitors came, we without played in these woods until the visitors left, as I remember it, this was basically a good home for children.

I was resident at Bauwnmore as a child. In the 1950'S  the entrance was via the Whitewell Road. I think this changed when the the M2 was built, cutting the grounds in half. Then the enterance changed to the Mill Road at Whitehouse.
