The only thing I know about Manor Street is the Boy's Club. I lived in Glenbank Place and used to go down to it.

Colleen  I met a johnson from mannor st area in the Shankill cemetary a few weeks back ,he said he knew Mc cans avoca st
I lived at number 30 avoca st spent some time working in London with a john dugan and Sammy McGrath from manor st chippy

I went to manor st boys club from 1949 till1957 davy lawther and his brother rab run it then

Anyone out there remember Bob Smyth. He ran a shoemakers/repairs shop in Manor Street. Corner of Manor Street & Derg Street ..  I think.
yes the shoe shop was at the corner of derg st and manor st faceing the manor bar

I knew Billy Scoot, his mother Josie and his father Charlie.  Jean his sister died and Billy died.  He used to work in the shipyard.  He alway took the micky out of me and I told his mother.  She said just call him 'Skite' he didn't like it.  But don't call him [censored] now!

Suir Street was real? Maybe my memory is really bad but was it full of 'Shawlies' And a terrible stink of unwashed bodies

No Lizzy, the people from  Suir Street and all the River Streets  were decent hard working people they may not have had much but they were good people and you are out of order to say they smell ...Nasty.... >:D
