Hello,  I only came across this site today.  Yes, I live in Highfield Drive from 1948 until 1961.  As has been said on this site, Highfield was a new estate when my family arrived there.  It really has many memories for me as a 6/7 year old - all the different coloured doors, houses were still being built and Oh the joy of playing with those piles of bricks and foundations.   This estate was mostly new - some has added the different numbers which were finished, but that is not what I recall.  Many houses, lower than ours were still in the throes of being completed.  I still recall most of the names of tenants from 32 - 78 and 51 to 79.  The odd numbers were on one side of the street and even numbers on the other.  Before 1930 might be difficult - i don't think Highfield Drive was there before early 1940.

Hello - you who lived in No 48 HFD - I recall the name of Billy Barnes - are you Nita?/Anita?   Perhaps my memory is wrong??  At least that's the name I recall.  I don't know if you are of the same family/ address, but  I'm sure of that surname.   Sorry I took a while to respond to you, but being new I just could not find the button for the reply option.  Regards,  Tom(my).

Hi Billy,   The Westcircular Wizrds????????????????   Where did they dig that name up from?   I presume you didn't make it up to the Premier Division?   There were some good 'uns around who played in our wee street teams and  I often wondered if any of them made it into the Irish league.  Well its good to hear from you - where are you living now?  I live in Nottingham - was Shropshire until about 8 years ago.  I actually left Belfast nearly 60 years ago - next month actually.  I joined the RAF for 5 years initially, but stayed in until I served for 22 years, came out in 1983.  In my first year in the RAF I was posted to Australia for 3 years, met and married a girl from Rathcoole, her family had emigrated to AUst, we married just before I came back to the UK - that was 56 years ago!!!  Still married to the same girl.  Take Care, Stay Safe,  God Bless,  Tom.

My Granny (Ruby) and Grandad (Tommy) Armstrong lived at number 9 Highfield Drive - I'm not sure when they moved there - sometime in the 50's I think. They moved to England in the Spring of 1964. They had 6 sons and 1 daughter (George, Frank, Christopher, William, Robert, Dennis & Elizabeth (Betty
