LONEY and CARVILL families
« on: August 30, 2010, 12:55:53 PM »
Hi all
I have only justfound this site and hope to find someone who may be researching the same names as me or to help with me where to go further back or to find cousins.  I live in England but do hope to come over to Belfast in 2011 to visit the record offices etc.

My grandfather was William LONEY born in 1906 at 2 Belfast Street, and he was the son of William James LONEY 1867 -1949 and Margaret Elizabeth CARVILL 1875 - 1961. Grandad married Alice HUSE in Egham, England in 1933 and their daughter Mavourneen is my mum.  His parents, William and Margaret were married in St Ann's Belfast in 1899 and the address at the time of the marriage is given as  53 McTier Street.  William is shown as a widower.  I believe he may have been married to a Sarah Jane JELLY before?

The address for the family in the 1911 census is 13 Tyne, Wood Vale Ward, and in the 1901 as living with Margarets parents in 76 Percy Street Wood Vale Ward.

My grandad's siblings are:
James Carvill Loney1901  married Annie ?
Edith Carvill Loney 1903 married Albert MAZE
Elizabeth Carvill  Loney 1908 married George BEST
Hazel May Brady Loney 1910 married Bernard MAGUIRE?
Margaretta Eileen Loney 1912 married Reg HOPKINS in England
Muriel Victoria Loney 1914 married Hugh MCCORMICK
Lawrence Edmund Loney 1916 married ? MAYNARD

Margaret Elizabeth CARVILL'S parents were James CARVILL 1852 - 1920 in Antrim and Lizzie BRADY 1853 - 1940.  Their address in 1901, 1911 and 1912 is given as 76 Percy Street Belfast

I hope to find someone who may be researching these names.
thank you
Debbie  ::)

Hi I have just discovered Belfast forum. I know your question was 10 years ago but Elizabeth Carvill Loney was my maternal grandmother. My sister has done a lot of research into the family tree.
