I worked there for a few months as a young girl - around 1971/72.  Worked in the office for Mr. Harrison and Mr. Hall.  Some names I remember - Una Toal, Bernie Haughan, Hugh Fleck, Mrs. O'Kane, Molly (from top of the Pad), Mary Smith, Rod O'Dowd, Mrs. O'Connor, Martin??.  Valerie (from Ballygally)??   . The Army were billeted in there at night.

My great uncle, a Shankill Road man worked in the Beltex factory in the 1940's.  He was killed at the Rinhka Dance Hall in Islandmagee one night by one of his fellow workers from Ardoyne.  The dance was a work night out, it was near Christmas so I assume it was the Christmas do.

My uncles name was Henry Carney, the man that killed him was a man by the name of Edward Gerald Falls.

My uncle left a wife and a 4 year old son.
so very sorry to hear that

Nmmm. Why is it that every girl in the Beltex 'worked in the office' ?  :D
