I now find myself  using this saying              must have  made  an  impact on me        .     as a child     .

we got that one margana,   two more of my grannys most used:   ya stupid wee [censored] ghost, ???  or: ya stupid wee scut.     scut???     learned years later that a scut was that wee white flash of a rabbits tail when it was running alarmed,  never could make the connection,  but she ceartainly built up our egos, and for myself,  i can still move my head fast enough to avoid a punch,  thanks granny.
