Mervyn Cotter - NI Body Building Champ /1940's early 1950's..

Hi,
I have googled for some info about Mervyn Cotter not a lot online about him.
Would anyone know anything about his time as a bodybuilder/family ?.

I believe he lived in Shamrock Street, certainly I remember him from around 1950 being there.

And he was into bodybuilding then.

I am also interested in Mervyn Cotter. He sold my late father a Norton motorcycle in 1971 which he had raced way back. His racing career finished following an accident while practicing on open roads. A story was also told of how his party piece was to lift the Norton above his head. This is how the connection was made to weight lifting/body building. A friend of mine from North Belfast remembers Mervyn`s success in body building competitions. I would be grateful for any info on the history of his Norton motorcycle, where he purchased it, who was the first owner? when did this machine arrive in Belfast from London?  Many thanks. Jimmy

It was my grandmothers brother she was called Audrey Cotter.

Mervyn Cotter was my cousin. Yes, Shamrock street was the address.

He lived in clarawood estate and had 3 children.he also continued to work on cars and had a place on the middle braniel road.
