Williamsons
« on: November 17, 2010, 09:12:53 PM »
My great great grandfather was Michael Williamson b 1862 died 1905.  First wife Agnes Galway/Anne Galloway - married Oct 1878 at Ballymena Registry Office.  I think Michael Williamson came from Bangor originally.  At some point he moved to Belfast. His father was called John and his mother was possibly called Isabella (but not sure about this).  He married for a second time to Martha Addis Magee.  Addresses he lived at in Belfast include Louisa Street, Mansfield Street, Langsford Street.  I would be grateful for any further information.

Hi ktils01, surprised to see any postings on this site for Williamson, haven't seen any before!!  Do you have any Dempsey's connected in your search .. sideways or otherwise?  Didn't want to post publicly on the forum at this stage, but would be happy to hear from you.  Apologise for any typo's ... laptop keyboard getting defunct!!

Thanks Elwyn.  The Michael Williamson you refer to is my great great grandfather.  I'm trying in vain to find out for certain who his mother was and if he came from Bangor originally.

I think the Williamson family may have worked on the Clandeboye Estate in Bangor.  Does anyone know if estate records would help?

Hi,

Please get in touch. I'm not sure how to message you, but I have the information you need. I'm a Williamson and Michael Williamson is my great, great, great grandfather's brother.

You are right about the Clandeboye connection.

Do any of the posters have any connections to a James Williamson who was boarding in the Sandy Row area around 1910-1915 ?
Initially he may have shared his lodgings with two sons. No sign of a wife, she may have died.
