This pic was taken in or around March 1914 in Paris. ....2 of the 5 were from  Belfast.  just before the outbreak of WW1.  A few months later the Belfast boys were back there,  this time wearing an Army Uniform. ... both survived the war.  one emigrated to Auz in 1923.  the other stayed put in Belfast and had a boxing career until the mid 30's.The 2 coloured guys were renowned USA top tricks.

Terrific photographs Bread Basket.
Thank you for posting.

jilly :)
Agreed Jilly. Wonderful memories brought to life again. Beating myself up constantly that even with my interest in photography I couldn't afford to take many photos. Now I have the equipment but the places and faces are gone. Thanks to all who contribute to this excellent walk in the past.
Stop the ride, I want to get off and go back.

Och Sam isn`t that life!
When I travelled my Father always bought me loads of films to take with me-I am ashamed to say
Sam I returned home with them intact in their boxes!

The wee camera -a Brownie-always seemed to be in the room wherever I was staying and never
saw the light of day!

To be honest-I hated having my photograph taken-and still do-perhaps that`s why I never was one
for taking photos!
However, its also probably why I love seeing those taken by others-and I do very much. Those who
post theirs on the Forum-thank heavens they were not like me!

jilly :)
