Thank you Bread Basket for posting those wonderful photos.   They should give us all a reality check for when we have a winge or gurn about something, to see those photos of those cold, dirty, hungry looking  hardworked people, with wee children probably with the feet cut off them with those stones and not a shoe between them.  What a hard life they all must have had, probably worried where the next meal was coming from.

Completely agree with those other comments ... a fabulous group of historic pictures.

BTW, totally off topic, ... but yesterday, Sunday13th September 1920, was the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower from Plymouth to America.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000cnbb

They had sailed from their refuge in Holland, where they had gone to escape religious dissension in England.

Their Atlantic voyage was inspired by their religious beliefs in respect of the Biblical account in Exodus about God's instruction to Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt across the sea which God would cause to part to allow them to walk on dry land, and which he would then cause to return to deep sea behind them, in order to engulf the pursuing Egyptian army.

"Oh, we come on the ship they call the Mayflower
We come on the ship that sailed the moon
We come in the age’s most uncertain hour
And sing an American tune"

Surely this is the Ulster Prince, as the Ulster Monarch had two funnels? My Cousin worked on the Ulster Monarch.
