Launch of H.M.S. `Eagle` from Harland & Wolff, Belfast.  :)


I can remember as a young teenager on the ferry to Stranraer seeing HMS Eagle tied up at Cairnryan prior to scrapping ,
She was an impressive sight  :)

Boxer this photograph is striking, It shows a child in absolute poverty. It speaks a thousand words!! If only she could have had one of those treats.

Real sad photo as you say Dub, manys a child lived (or existed!) like this); also rings a bell as to the poverty of many of today's children....

Apparently she was that well built, it took an additional year to dismantle her.  :)
