TES `Canberra` built by Harland & Wolff, Belfast. Apparently she was so well built it took an additional 2 years to dismantle her.  :)

Caulkers busy at work at Harland & Wolff.  Caulkers usually ended up deaf.  :)

Milewater Basin, Belfast.  :) H.M.S. `Caroline` and Belfast Corporation`s `sludge disposal` steamer, S.S. `Divis` which was known as the `banana boat` for obvious reasons.   ::)

Bit of a strange service was this. Belfast / Larne to Preston and vice versa by boat. Only made the trip a few times and remember `touching bottom` as the River Ribble was quite silted up. Nice boats though, from what I can remember.  :)

Jack M nice photo of the old Divis remember working on her when she dry docked in the claredon  they used have an old dog on her I think it was called skipper . AW hamilton used to do a lot of work on her.It used to be a joke that she was half empty of sludge before she reached bangor
