The M.V. `Scottish Coast` sitting at Donegal Quay awaiting her maiden voyage, in 1957. She arrived from her builders Harland & Wolff, Belfast, painted in the colours of the Belfast Steamship Company to cover on the overnight Liverpool route, for the `Ulster Monarch` which had gone for a three month overhaul. I sailed on this ship, not on its maiden voyage but certainly on the first week she was covering the route. A splendid ship she was. Even though I had first class accommodation, I can recall the overbearing smell of fresh paint. She also served on the Belfast - Glasgow route as well as the Glasgow - Dublin overnight service. Sold by the Coast Line Group in 1969 she was converted into a cruise liner by Greeks. She was finally broken up in India in 2002 after a remarkable career of 45 years. True testament to those who built her.   :)
