I  remember this export sale quite well as I was somewhat involved with it. From memory we sold to a very large company of Farm supplies in the American mid- west. It was Belfast Ropeworks world famous `Blue Bell` Baler twine for use on farms. We faced stiff competition from an American company called `International Harvesters` in New Orleans, but we got the contract. 1,440 tons was quite an export, back in the day. It was followed by many more exports to the USA.  :)
