Hello - I don't know if anyone is still looking for the origins of the Apsley family but I came across the will of Thomas Apsley, of Ashford in Kent 1774 who mentions his nephew Robert Apsley "previously of Carrickfergus, now of Belfast".  Robert's father was John Apsley who was minister of Ripple in Kent and died 1760. He was born in Ashford 1709 and became Curate at Egerton parish for a few years before being minister at Ripple from 1743 until his death in 1760.  I have no connection with the family but came across this while researching the history of a former farmhouse (now private dwelling)   called Little Winchcombe which straddles the boundary between the parishes of Crundale and Godmersham. I have a few more details on Apsley's forebears if anyone is interested plus information on the property which passed between the family members.
Hope this is of use to someone !
