[/quote My parts lived in 1A Green End from 1957 just after I was born. Prior to that they lived the top floor flat (1E?) Good to see pictures from that time...in 1960 we moved to East Way?

hi,forum..did any of the Meek family,move to Rathcoole..my cousin, & there gang,used to hang around with a girl called maureen meek..from whitla st /ship st..back in the mid 50s..
the older you get the worse you get..

There is Meeks in Rathcoole.
I went to school with Bill Meek, he lived in Avonlea Gardens.

We lived on Rathmore drive after moving from Clonbeg drive . 1952 until 1967. Went to Aus; IN 67 . Knocked around with Jackie Gilliland . Tom DavIson RIP . Marshal  Passmore . Roy kernigan .Tommy Fitzpatrick . Jimmy Patrick who i would like to find .. Cheers  JC

I know a Davie Patrick who would be about 54.
Also there were Passmores who at one time lived about Dunloy

Jimmy Patrick also had a sister Masie who married one of the Passmores . They moved to Aus; in the middle of 1960 but i heard they came home.. Jimmy might have had a younger brother..???

The Alpha  started life as a picture house .New flicks every 2 nights .Got to know  Sammy Allen senior  and junior . I remember the alpha  being built we were all so excited to have a meeting place not to mention the fish suppers  .

also remember alpha being built - we lived in ballyronan park - frank carson was an early compere of the alphabeat, and the local band was johnny and the teenbeats - also the late night horror shows mid 60s - and the pasties  - ....

Sorry Dendar dont recognise that name - I lived in Ballyronan park about 1958 -70 - prob a different time frame?

I remember the Alpha opening, Sabrina a big english bird, looked like Jane Mansfield, cut the tape. The Allen family I think owned it then.
Great chippy at the front. From memory, Susie Foster from old Whitehouse village married Sammy Allan.

Knew all those names, The Gillilands were. Big family Raymond was in our class in school. Don't know what happened to Jimmy Patrick.

Did she live with her mother?. Think they both moved to the multies in Rathcoole.
