Whitehouse Silver Band

Founded in early 1900s and amalgamated in 1985 with Carrick Amateurs Band to form C.W.S. (Carrick Whitehouse Silver) Band.

This is another band, Senior section 55th Old Boys in Belfast. I played with them in the 60s/70s though they're now dissolved. The reason I'm posting it here is that I think I remember Derek Orr (the band's euphonium player - middle row, 3rd from right) also conducted and/or played with Whitehouse.

Hi folks,

My dad was a bit of an amateur photographer and we knew Derek Orr (from the 55th) when he conducted Whitehouse (1960s/70s?). I found this photo he took which might interest those of you who knew Whitehouse. I THINK it is Whitehouse. Cheers!

Very few Silver Bands now Billy.

Used to love listening to them in Parks on a Summer`s evening many years ago.
