  If we could include Carrickfergus in Belfast ....the worst smell in recent times was a smell from a factory on the seafront near Courtaulds .  What was it :)

What did they make. Carpets?

No Dommo it was Kerpets ;)  .might have been Flaxalls but I don't know what they made.  The sea would change colour when they pumped dye into the sea. :o

Can anyone remember Littlewoods in the City Centre. in the mid 1950's my Auntie Margaret used to take me in there. They had huge clear plastic pillars on the sweetie counter filled with Liquorice allsorts, jelly beans and other sweets. It smelt lovely and sweet and as they sold the sweets the level would drop in the pillars. She always treated me to something from the sweetie counter. :)

hello Lilian, i remember Littlewoods well. My mum used to take me in there on a Saturday and we used to buy a big slab of madeira cake. :-*

I actually miss pipe smoke! No one in Cali smokes.my friends who was ex Indian/ british army used to smoke a pipe and it always reminds me of my youth!
