hi Guys:  early one morning as a young man living in N. Ireland, I had to drive along the coust road to go to a job in Newry as I drove  along the foot of the Mourne Mountains I saw the early morning  mist comming down the mountain towards the sea it was such a beautyful site I had to stop and admire it ,then I wrote  a few verses of a poem which  I never felt  was commplete, untill a couple of weeks ago I was sitting in band practice we where playin Two Celtic songs, the first part called  the maids of the Mourne was so nice it gave me a dejavu  momant and when I got home I wrote the end of my poem,  and here it is fifty years later (better late than never) hope you like it,

The Mist on the Mountains of Mourne
I saw a velvit lady hidding beauty as she smiled  Creeping shyly in the day break with the caution of a child
And still with loving tenderness caress the mountain slopes  Waiting there until the sun comes up and the wind with her elopes
Yet the mountain like a giant stands defying all her bless  Is not lured by her glances nor melted by her kiss
But he stands displaying power clothed in elegance so grand  With his sumit in the heavens scanning ore the sea and land
As she sweeps his heather mantle  Of purple, green and white
She awakens all his subjects Who hide there from the night
She's a herald of the morning Leaving dew drops in her trail Keeping moist his coulored vesture
So its beauty will not fail
She'l return again next morning To visit for a while And creep shyly with the day break
 Hidding beauty with her smile
Mist on the mountains of Mourne

This post to remember seaviewite, aka Roy McFadden, who died around 7 years ago and whose posts were a beacon and centre-piece to gather thoughts and memories around. And if the Afterlife is such a thing that people can breeze around freely and look-in to the likes of this place, all the best to you Roy and I hope that the company you keep now is second to none.

Hi everyone, just called in to say “Hi” and nice to see most of the “old gang” still on here. Last time I posted was around Feb 2018, how time flies! I have been working on some new stuff and hope to post it soon.
