Tommy, your photo's are great, as ever. The guy with the sheep looks like Einstein and I'm wondering if he's dandering along by Loughview Villas? I don't remember them having brick frontages, but rendered. Put me out of my misery and tell all.  :-*

HELEN im thinking you could be correct they didn't have much
of a garden being so close to the rd back then hence  Demolition and widening
of the road ,  :-*

It could be but I'm not sure, Tommy. Remember that they weren't demolished for road-widening but to host a supermarket car-park in the 1990s. Took the front of the road clean away there. It was a terrible loss at the time. You're right, of course, that the gardens were shortened, and I'm sure Jim found an image of them being reduced in the days when there was talk of widening the road further. Can you say what the source of the image is, and year it was taken, and maybe we could work it out from that angle?

Graymount as a Hospital Tuberculous children

It's a great pity the T.B. didn't live in the walls and get the teachers in later years. All except Miss K. Wallace, Miss Christine Wallace, Mrs Pauline Ferguson and Mrs Barton all of whom had more human qualities than the whole parcel of the rest put togther.  A bigger pack of snobs and sadists you couldn't imagine. Great image, Tommy. It looks to me as if it was in some fancy conservatory or "orangerie" long gone by my day. Still, the old place wasn't without its interesting nooks, I'll say that for it.  :-*

Tommy, that's a beaut and I'd like to hear what Keith would have to say about the buildings. I'm wondering is it looking towards Belfast or Carrick. Keep these images coming from whatever source you have. Thanks for them, and for enlivening the thread with them.  :hi: :-*

This one is incredible Tommy. It takes the "York" streets into a whole other era.  :-* (Couldn't manage to get the image to repeat).

Hiya GROOVER hope you're still around. I'm back living near the old "Copy Pit" so when you come out of the "underground" at Kitsonwood give me a blast if you're still working.  :hi: Your boys knocked hell out of the tunnel last Sunday  :D . Up the SHORE ROAD!
